Cash: Cash contributions allow the donor to receive the tax benefits of a gift in the year it is made. Outright contributions of cash are the most direct and immediate way of helping the Y in this important effort.
Pledges: The majority of commitments are made as pledges that can be paid over as many as five years. Pledges are preferable because they permit donors to consider larger commitments.
Gifts of Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities or other marketable assets are welcome. A gift of appreciated securities either publicly traded or from a private company may provide significant tax advantages when compared to gifts of cash. The donor may deduct the current "fair market" value of the donated securities as a charitable gift and be exempt from the capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Gifts of Real Estate: Gifts of real estate or other property may be acceptable, and are subject to final acceptance by the Grand Strand YMCA. All costs of appraisal or valuation are at the donor's expense.
Gifts of Life Insurance: When the Grand Strand YMCA is named as sole and irrevocable owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, the market value (usually the cash surrender value) of the policy is deductible as a charitable gift.
Estate and Life Income Gifts: Gifts by bequest may be accepted as well as income producing vehicles such as Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Lead Trusts.

ADDITIONALLY: • Gifts are tax deductible, as provided by law. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine the maximum tax benefits for you.
• Gifts may be given in memory of a loved one, or to honor someone special, and will be listed in accordance with your wishes, as appropriate. Memorial and commemorative gift opportunities are available; please ask for a current list of items.
• Gifts may be pledged in annual, semi-annual, quarterly or monthly installments for your convenience. Pledges may be made over a period of up to 5 years. All gifts will be acknowledged.
• We suggest an initial payment of at least 10% of the total gift amount at the time of your decision. This is not required, but would be helpful in our planning efforts.
Please give as generously as you are able.
