YMCA VERY GRATEFUL FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

It was the vision of Simeon Chapin that one day a YMCA would be established in Myrtle Beach. Some 40 years later in 1983, the vision became a reality. The Chapin Foundation , set up by Mr. Chapin, has been the life blood of the Grand Strand Family YMCA, offering support in excess of $1,000,000.00 over the years, to sustain the operation of the Y. Other significant gifts have come from the Ocean View Memorial Foundation, United Way, and the Burroughs & Chapin Company. Hundreds of individuals have assisted the YMCA with their gifts and valuable leadership during annual sustaining campaigns. Community support has been overwelming. The Grand Strand Family YMCA will stand as a permanent testimony to the mutual concern for the welfare of our citizens and our sense of independence and community pride.

VOLUNTEERS

YMCA Volunteers are the Life Blood of the Grand Strand Family YMCA! As a Volunteer in Programs (V.I.P.), you can lead an activity, serve as a role model for young people, help out in the office, provide loving care for infants and toddlers, assist with special events, coach youth sports, chaperone trips, serve on a program committee, or provide leadership and support in an area of your expertise. In recognition of your time, caring, support, and commitment to our YMCA, we say" Thank you" by providing all of our VIPS with special training, equipment, fellowship, and priveleges.
