The Grand Strand Family YMCA's work is summed up in just eight words: we build strong kids, strong families, strong communities. Everything
we have done for the past 19 years has been dedicated to this purpose.
Last year the Y provided scholarships that enabled hundreds
of adults and kids to participate in Y programs and activities. Over $125,000 in assistance was given to families for subsidized child
care, making it possible for moms and dads to go to work, knowing their youngsters are in an environment where they will not only
be cared for, but also be taught positive character-building values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
The YMCA is more
than just a collection of programs and activities. The YMCA provides family-centered, value-focused programs, to build healthy spirit,
mind, and body.
This year the YMCA will introduce, "YMCA KIDZLIT", a program collaboration with the Developmental Studies Center. The
addition to the after school curriculum will help build literacy skills, an appreciation for reading, and reinforcement of the YMCA
character development values.
Please help us to provide the attention, understanding, and guidance that youngsters need.
